Richard Crenian dedicates his time and energy throughout the year to an abundance of charity events and causes. One in particular is an event that Mr. Crenian has been a part of for over a decade — the Scotiabank Pro-Am Hockey Tournament.
The Scotiabank Pro-Am Hockey Tournament is the largest hockey event in North America and is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s. The teams that play consists of donors, NHL players, and general hockey fanatics. As Richard Crenian has said, “I’m a big fan of hockey but I’m also passionate about using a sport to bring the community together to support an important cause, such as funding for Alzheimer’s research. That’s a big reason why I continuously support this tournament.”
He has donated over $75, 000 annually to the tournament and often plays during the event. In previous years, he’s played with the Coop Architects, another high group donor.
In addition to the hockey tournament, he is also a significant donor in the Baycrest Foundation and has created a Match my Gift campaign where Mr. Crenian matches donations that come through the foundation. He has averaged over $18, 000 donations each year.
